A lot of you emailed us back asking for one-on-one hashtag help.

So we thought it would be perfect to combine all the questions into one email so we can help you too, if you're wondering what hashtags to use for YOUR account or YOUR business (keep scrolling for the list).

We will be referring to the Hashtags that are inside the Hashtag Finder, in your Preview App:

Let us start by saying that there are no random hashtags in Preview.

The Hashtags have been researched and hand-picked to help you connect with the RIGHT community and INCREASE your reach.

As you can see, there is a Search Bar on top of your Hashtag Finder:

You can type keywords in the search bar to find what you're looking for.

If you can't find a hashtag the first time, try another keyword that is related to what you're looking for.

For example:

Can't find something for "brides"?

Type "Wedding".

Bride and Wedding are related.

Examples of keywords you can type in the search bar:

Your general interests (example: are you an illustrator? Type "Art" to see all the recommended hashtags for artists)
Your industry
Your specialty
Your business
The people you want to attract to your account (example: if you have a clothing brand = use "Fashion" hashtags to connect with the fashion community)

🔥 Think about your customers

This is very important:

Always remember who you are trying to attract.
Use the hashtags your ideal customers/clients would type to search or hashtags they actually use themselves on their account.

This way your products/services/offers will appear in front of THEIR eyes.

☀️ Lifestyle / Personal account

Type "Life" in the search bar.

🕺 Fashion Brand

Example: Clothing brands, shops, boutiques, online shops, watches, eyewear, glasses, bags, jewellery, accessories, wardrobe consultant, image consultant, personal stylist, fashion tips.
Type "Fashion" in the search bar to see the recommended hashtags.

🌿 Health and Wellness Brand

Example: Any natural, vegan, organic, eco-friendly, body-mind brands = you want to target people who are into a healthy lifestyle.
Type "Health" in the search bar of your Preview App.
Type "Positivity" in the search bar.

💋 Beauty Brand

Examples: makeup, cosmetics, beauty products, skincare.
Type "Beauty" in the search bar.

👶 Baby Brand

Selling baby products, accessories, or services?
Your ideal customers are most likely moms.
Type "Mom" in the search bar of the Hashtag Finder to see the recommended hashtags.

👰 Wedding Professional

If you are serving people in the wedding industry:
Example: Wedding dress business, wedding photography business, bridal makeup artist, wedding planner, wedding flowers - anything to do with Wedding, bride, groom, wedding cake, wedding card invitations, illustrator, etc.
Type "Wedding" in the search bar of your Hashtag Finder.

📸 Photographers

Type "Photographer" in the search bar.
Even if you are photographing a very specific niche (like theme parks), you can still use the "Photographers" hashtags that are already in the app.

💝 Handmade Business

Example: knit, crochet, macrame, ceramic - anything handmade.
Type "Handmade" + "Etsy".
Based on your business, choose who your ideal customers are. Example: "Mom Bloggers", "Creative Business Owners", "Business Women", "Home Decor", "Interior designers".

🏠 Home Specialists

Example: furnitures, home accessories, candles, bedding, quilting, artwork, home organisers, interior designers, real estate agents.
You want people who are into interior decoration to check out your products.
Type "Home" and use the recommended "Home" hashtags + use your own hashtags that describe your product.

🍔 Food + Drinks

Example: restaurants, cafes, drinks, any food/drink, food photography
The foodie community on Instagram is AMAZING. If you share food or drink posts, definitely use the "Food" related hashtags.
Type "Food" in the search bar.

💃 Women Empowerment

Many of you wanted hashtags to motivate, empower, inspire women.
Suggestion: "Business Women", "Self-Love" and "Positivity" hashtags.
Type these keywords in the search bar to see the recommended hashtags.

✈️ Tourism

Example: Hotels, resorts, excursions, products for travellers (like suitcases, clothes, shoes or accessories perfect for travellers), tour guides, activities, cruises.
Recommended hashtags: "Travel" + your location.
Type "Travel" in the search bar to see the related hashtag groups.

It's ok to add your own specific hashtags

Preview gives you a head-start with hashtags.

You can use the hashtags in the Hashtag Finder to connect with amazing communities on Instagram.

It's ok if you need to add / create your own specific hashtags for your brand.

For example:
You might sell lip gloss. But there's no "lip gloss" hashtags in the app yet.
No worries!
You can still use the "Beauty" hashtags, since lip gloss = will appeal to the beauty community = where your customers are.

Another example:
You're a hair stylist and you specialise in "fairy hair".
You can still use the "Hair" hashtags that are already in the app to connect you with the Hair community on Instagram.
Those hashtags will give you a boost. And then, type your own #fairyhair in the caption too.

Boom!

You're creating an awesome hashtag group that works beautifully for you.
